The four-story 109,000 square foot building was designed and readied for construction within six months to meet the college's fast-track schedule for occupancy and use in the fall of 1999.  To accommodate a thirteen month construction time-frame for this large structure, specially designed systems were developed by members of the team to reduce ordering and shipment requirements and installation time   This included designing the building to accommodate two independent construction teams working simultaneously.  The building is designed around a series of educational and environmental metaphors, developed for the campus, abstracted from the Southern Nevada desert and Mount Charleston.  The project was completed on time and below the expectation of change-orders so that the College could utilize the funds for enhancements.  This facility is the recipient of a 2000 Gold Nugget Award of Merit.
