This 17,000 square foot broadcast and recording center is fully operational twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.  It serves as the nucleus of operations for KNPR 89.5 Nevada Public Radio, and includes a recording studio for professional production and a hands-on classroom for teaching  students of the Community College of Southern Nevada state of the art digital broadcasting.   It required coordination with a number of highly specialized technical consultants. The facility's technically intensive areas are designed with sensitivity towards HVAC noise reduction.  The facility is also designed with a standby emergency power system ensuring continuous broadcasting in case of power outages.  Equipped with both a satellite up-link and down-link, it is the only radio facility in Nevada capable of broadcasting across the world. Incorporated throughout the facility is an integrated networking system for data and communications designed to facilitate change.  The project received design awards from NAIOP and the Southern Nevada Water Authority for water efficient xeroscape landscaping.
